MORE

It’s not your every day blog, it’s worse. Welcome to God with a Blog Complex where we complain so you don’t have to. It may not be cathartic for you, but it certainly is for me.

All About Me

If you haven’t already gleaned what kind of person I am from the posts, here is some additional info so you get a better idea of the bitch behind the blog.

My name is Maya (pronounced my-uhh, yes people have pronounced it wrong) and I enjoy writing. Actually I don’t, it’s more of a compulsion. This site is for my friends. You guys are my target audience. If someone you know directed you to this site, check in on them. Are they okay?

I like art and I love insane art. In the words of Sheila Heti, art is knowing where the funny is. So if you’re funny you’re probably an artist.

FAQ

What to watch. I prefer cartoons, usually something along the lines of Bojack Horseman, Rick and Morty, or—if I really want to turn my brain off—Family Guy.

How I Met Your Mother. This is one I personally think about a lot having been a fan while it aired on television. Rewatching it you pick up on a lot of sexist undertones which emanate from Cobie Smulders’s character, Robin, as she enjoys defying gender norms while simultaneously shaming the women who conform to them. Not my kinda gal, though I do love Smulders as an actor. Still, the show is really funny and not the first to be tainted by the passage of time.
